Gomel Oblast-Russia's Primorye trade up 11 times in Q1 2023

In January-March 2023, mutual trade between Belarus' Gomel Oblast and Russia's Primorye Territory increased by 11 times compared to the same period last year, Gomel Oblast Governor Ivan Krupko said as he met with Governor of Russia's Primorye Territory Oleg Kozhemyako on 7 June, BelTA has learned.

“Interaction between Gomel Oblast and Russian regions has noticeably intensified. A number of mutual visits have taken place at the official level this year,” the Gomel Oblast governor said.

Speaking about cooperation with Russia's Primorye Territory, the head of the region noted: foreign trade has followed a positive trend in 2022 and in 2023. “The mutual trade in January-March 2023 reached $4.3 million and increased 11 times compared with the same stretch a year ago,” Ivan Krupko said. At the same time the parties still have some work to do, he added.

“We supply mineral fertilizers, dairy products, ferrous pipes, textiles and agricultural equipment to Primorye Territory,” the governor named the export positions.
