Employees of the Belarusian public sector will get a pay rise on 1 January 2023, BelTA learned from the Telegram-channel of the Belarusian Labor and Social Security Ministry.
Decree No. 887 of the Council of Ministers of 19 December 2022 sets the base amount at Br228 as from 1 January 2023. Since other incentive and compensatory payments are pegged to the base amount, their size will increase correspondingly from 1 January 2023. The increase of the base amount in 2023 will be carried out in several stages.
The base amount will go up 7.5% compared to 1 December 2022 (Br212), and up 10.1% as against 1 January 2022 (Br207).
According to the Labor and Social Security Ministry, the base amount is a basic element of the tariff system, which is used to pay the employees of state-run organizations and other organizations that receive subsidies, whose employees are considered equivalent to the public sector workers.
