Gomel to host Belarus Open Modern Pentathlon Cup on 29-31 January

GOMEL, 27 January (BelTA) – Belarus Open Modern Pentathlon Cup will take place in Gomel on 29-31 January, BelTA learned from the Gomel Oblast Olympic Reserve Center.
Competing for medals will be athletes representing Minsk Oblast, Gomel Oblast and Mogilev Oblast and also representatives of the National Water Sport Olympic Center and Minsk Children's and Youth Olympic Reserve School.
The competitions will be held at three venues: in the sports complex on Portovaya Street (fencing, swimming), Gomel Oblast Athletics Olympic Reserve Center (combined event) and Gomel Oblast Applied Sports Olympic Reserve Center (equestrian).
“According to the results of the competition points will be distributed to the national ranking for further selection for international competitions,” the Gomel Oblast Applied Sports Olympic Reserve Center representatives said.
The event aims to develop and popularize modern pentathlon, encourage sports achievements and enhance sports skills.
The event is organized by the Sport and Tourism Ministry, the sport and tourism department of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee.
