Location
Buda-Koshelevo district is located in the northeast of Gomel region and occupies the territory of 1.6 thousand square kilometres. It borders with Rogachev, Chechersk, Zhlobin, Vetka, Rechitsa and Gomel districts.
Transport communication
Highways St. Petersburg – Kiev (19 km away from Buda-Koshelevo), Gomel – Minsk (20 km away from Buda-Koshelevo) and the railway connecting Gomel – Minsk pass through the territory of Buda-Koshelevo district. Two railway stations – Buda-Koshelevo and Uza – function on the district territory. The distance from the district centre to Gomel is 43 km, and to the capital of the Republic – Minsk – is 266 km.
Large settlements
There are 242 settlements on the district territory. The population is 39.5 thousand people, 69% of which is rural population. The centre is Buda-Koshelevo with the population of 9.5 thousand people. The second biggest settlement is Uvarovichi with the population of 2.4 thousand people. It is situated 20 km away from Buda-Koshelevo on the way to the region centre. The distance to the railway station Uza is 7 km and to Gomel is 23 km. The village of Communar with the population of 2.1 thousand people is situated 2 km away from the highway Gomel-Dovsk. The distance to Gomel is 16 km and to the railway station Uza is 4 km.
Big enterprises
The joint venture “Amipak” PLC is a manufacturer of high quality mono- and co-extrusive PET (pellicle for production of package for perfumery, pharmaceutical commodities, housewares, throw-away crockery, credit cards, advertisement materials, plastic bin. The number of employees is 430 people. The specific gravity of industrial production volume in the total amount is 66.6% or more than 40 milliard rubbles a year.
Experimental Forestry of Buda-Koshelevo. The number of employees is 125 people. Enterprises of building, power engineering, trade, communication and consumer services work in the district. 312 legal entities, 246 individual employers are registered in the district.
The municipal unitary housing enterprise “Buda-Koshelevsky Kommunalnik” renders services in the sphere of community housing. The number of employees is 583 people or 4.6% occupied in the district economy.
“Agrochemservices” PLC stocks peat, execution of cropping works. The number of employees is 142 people.
Economy branches
Buda-Koshelevo district is one of the largest manufacturers of agricultural production. Agricultural grounds occupy 63.4% of the district territory or 98 thousand hectares, 52 thousand of which is arable land. There are 9 agricultural production co-operatives, 8 municipal agricultural unitary enterprises, 2 agricultural enterprises.
The republican branch agricultural unitary establishment “Belarusneft-Osobino” supplies with up to 40% of the total agricultural production in the district. It is situated in Kommunar. It is oriented to the production of chicken-broiler meat, cattle rearing, crops cultivating. The number of working people is 1.4 thousand people.
Manpower
12500 people work in different branches of the district economy, including 4.2 thousand people working in Buda-Koshelevo and 750 in Uvarovichi. The number of able-bodied population is 21.9 thousand. The number of officially unemployed is 9.4 thousand people, including 2.1 thousand people living in Buda-Koshelevo and 704 in Uvarovichi.
Natural resources
The district territory is situated in the upstream waters of Dnepr. The forest area occupies 27 % of the district territory. The minerals found - a deposit of clay breeds: clay and loams refractory miocenes, which are suitable for brick manufacture.
The state biological reserve “Buda-Koshelevsky” covers the territory of 6940 hectares. There are special protected forest areas, where plants included in the Red Book grow. It situated on the territory of Buda-Koshelevo, Duravichi and Victorina forestries.
Hunting grounds
Buda-Koshelevo, Rogin, Lipinichi, Duravichi, Kommunar, Uvarovichi and Gubichi forestries.
Fishing places
The river Sozh near the village of Shirokoe, the Dnepr near Gubichi and Smychek, the lake near Lipinichi and lake Vydritsa on the borders with Chechersk district.

It is supposed to output additional emission shares with corresponding investment stock increase from 50% to 80%.

Manufacture organization is supposed in the production departments of MAUE «State farm " Kоmintern ", which were used earlier for production of fruit wines (proper raw materials were used). At present working areas are temporarily closed down.
While preparing the project the emphasis in the analysis is placed on the juice market. The preliminary results of the research show a considerable potential on the juice market. According to the official data, the amount of juice consuming in the Republic of Belarus is 10 mln dollars a year. Today in the republic more than 50 enterprises produce juice. They offer about 100 production names. Statistics show the amount of the inner juice production was 5.2 mln dollars in 2007. According to the experts, the demand for juice shows the tendency to the growth up to 10 - 12 % a year and possesses potential of the further growth.
According to the official data, the annual juice consumption per capita is less than 9 liters a year in Belarus, while in Germany it is 44.3 liters, in Europe, North America and Japan it is about 30-40 liters. The given fact shows the possibility for further capacity growth on the Belarusian market.
Nevertheless, there isn’t hard competition among Belarusian producers on this market due to the following weak competition sides: the limited choice, out-of-date packing, absence of brand goods, lack of attention to the market sphere, consumer preferences.
The achievement of the main objectives of the project is based on fulfilling of the following tasks:
- Increase and maintenance of high quality of the production;
- Assortment widening;
- Use of modern kinds of package;
- Working out the proper brand;
- Achievement of the price availability to the Belarusian consumer.
The analysis of the market information shows the perspectives of the market entry under the condition of the use of Tetra Pak package and glass containers of small capacity with twist-off covers.
Besides, when entering the retail trade market the enterprises can use the following competitive advantages to replace the enterprises from the occupied segments of the Belarusian market:
- Use of natural components for juice production;
- The developed business ties with local consumers, first of all, the budgetary organizations;
- A sufficient raw-material base, including the one in Buda-Koshelevo district for maintenance of stable activity of the enterprise;
- Possibility of raw materials cultivation on the production floor spaces of MAUE «State farm" Krasnooktjabrsky " and the use of proper raw materials that will allow to regulate the price of a finished product.

The analysis of the present hotel (which needs thorough repairs) attendance showed the demand for 50 places. Buda - Koshelevo is the centre of Buda – Koshelevo district and it is included into the programme of development of the regions, small and middle settlements in the Republic of Belarus for 2007-2010.
The real economic sector includes 7 industrial enterprises among which: joint venture “Amipak” PLC which is a manufacturer of high quality mono- and co-extrusive PET (the enterprise is oriented for export), experimental forestry of Buda-Koshelevo, “Agrochemservices” PLC which stocks peat, does cropping works. There function establishments of building, municipal services, power engineering, trade, communication and consumer services. Children get education in three schools, students get technical education in the educational establishment “Buda – Koshelevo state agro-technical college”. There are health service and educational establishments. That means that there is the infrastructure of an average town in Buda-Koshelevo.
Buda-Koshelevo district is one of the biggest manufacturers of agricultural goods in the region.
