Buda-Koshelevo is the region’s administrative center with 10 thousand residents, more than 2,5 thousand live in Uvarovichi.

The region has 242 settlements; 19 rural and 1 township councils.

There is the state agro-technical college for 800 student places, 35 schools, 28 preschool and 2 music schools in Buda-Koshelevo.

The region’s medical network includes the central and Uvarovichi regional hospitals, district hospital, social hospital, 3 rural dispensaries and 32 obstetrician departments.

The region has 2 stadiums, 28 school gyms, 6 gyms, 2 mini swimming pools, children-youth physical training club. There is also a school of pre-university training and a children’s social home. The region publishes the newspaper Avangard.

Buda-Koshelevo natives are Admiral Valentin Petrovich Drozd, USSR People’s Artist Academician Yevsei Yevseevich Moiseenko, BSSR People’s Artist Vitaliy Konstantinovich Tsvirko, USSR People’s Artist Pavel Stepanovich Molchanov, international master of sports, silver winner of the World Rowing Championship /kayak and canoe/ Sergei Dupanov, world champion in track cycling 2004 Konstantin Sivtsov.
