GOMEL(BelTA) – The Belarusian harvester manufacturing company Gomselmash feels support of the state and is busy increasing its output, BelTA has learned.
The company's management admitted that there had been complicated periods in the history of the company's development. “We've always felt support of the country's leadership. The head of state did not fail to pay attention to our situation in the complicated 1990s or the early 2000s. The matters of debt restructuring and more active export efforts came to the forefront at the beginning of this summer. We received support. The effect is tangible,” Gomselmash representatives said.
Additional tools to promote sales of agricultural machines were worked out at the level of the head of state and the central government. Leasing schemes can be used to buy Gomselmash machines. This year's limits on leasing sums have been raised.
The management also praised the attitude of the employees to their jobs: a lot depended on their unity and the readiness to work more than one shift if necessary. The company kept working through the pandemic, which allowed creating considerable reserves ahead of the harvesting campaign. Gomselmash products sell well on the home market and abroad. The company's marketing department is now working hard to fill the portfolio of orders.
The company's output has increased considerably. In June-July Gomselmash made 200 grain harvesters and 50 forage harvesters every month, 1.5 times up from 2019. According to the source, the company demonstrated similar performance in 2014-2015.
According to the latest data, the company shipped 722 grain and forage harvesters to agricultural enterprises and farmers in Belarus in January-August. Thanks to state support the agricultural enterprises managed to considerably refresh their vehicle fleet and promptly used them as part of the harvesting campaign. In summer months alone 130 harvesters were shipped to Mogilev Oblast and 100 harvesters to Vitebsk Oblast. Gas engine harvesters were shipped to Gomel Oblast farmers.
According to preliminary calculations, in January-August 2020 the export growth rate totaled 102.4% as against the same period of last year while the growth rate of foreign currency proceeds is expected to reach 156.7%.
This year Gomselmash will ship a total of 900 harvesters to Russia. Harvesters are also being shipped to Kazakhstan and Africa.
The management specified that despite external provocations and the distribution of false and outdated information the output has not been reduced. The team is intent on hitting performance targets. The management admitted that it is an intensive period of time but only because the workload is high and the company has to ship more machines to Belarusian farmers and farmers in other countries.
This autumn Gomselmash intends to make 210-250 grain harvesters per month. Some headway will be made into the stable operation in winter.
In early August Gomselmash released a resolution in support of stability and development in a calm and peaceful country. The source stressed: “The team has a development strategy. We feel support of the state. We have prospects and confidence in tomorrow. Street protests lead to nowhere. Every citizen can improve his or her living standards only through their own labor.”

Gomselmash operates an extensive distribution chain, joint ventures, and assembly enterprises.
