Mozyr Oil Refinery going through largest, lengthiest overhaul

MINSK, 30 October (BelTA) – Mozyr Oil Refinery is going through the largest and lengthiest overhaul in the company's history, BelTA has learned.
According to Mozyr Oil Refinery's Facebook page, the volume and the extent of the current repairs exceed those of any of the previous repair campaigns by far. More than half of the work has already been done. More than 1,000 specialists from 17 construction and repair companies of Belarus, Russia, and Germany are working at various facilities in several shifts together with the company personnel.
The catalytic cracking plant is getting the most complicated repair jobs. Repairing this piece of equipment is part of the facility's profound upgrade and reconstruction. Over 450 people are working on it in two shifts or three shifts every day.
Representatives of Mozyr Oil Refinery's repair and maintenance department noted that after analyzing the work being done, after the implementation of a complex of preparatory operations, and after getting all the necessary equipment and materials they expect the major overhaul to be completed within the specified timeframe. Efforts are also being exercised in order to possibly reduce the length of repairs of individual facilities.
Mozyr Oil Refinery was commissioned in 1975. It was converted into a public joint-stock company (OAO) in 1994. The company specializes in refining oil and making and selling oil products.
BelTA reported earlier that Belarus will calculate the size of the compensation it is owed due to the polluted Russian oil situation after Mozyr Oil Refinery has completed a major overhaul.
