Many new technical regulations in development in Customs Union

Over 20 new technical regulations are in development in the Customs Union, BelTA learned from Chairman of the State Standardization Committee of Belarus Viktor Nazarenko during the Committee's session on 19 February.

According to the source, the scope of the work on technical regulations in the Customs Union is growing very large. So far 34 technical regulations have been enforced, with another one to be introduced this year. Apart from that, 22 technical regulations are being developed, noted Viktor Nazarenko.

The official explained that the number of the Customs Union's technical regulations in development includes documents regulating energy effectiveness of power-consuming devices, documents on amusement rides, fertilizers, individual kinds of food (poultry meat, fish), equipment for children's playgrounds, construction materials and products.

Viktor Nazarenko reminded that in 2016 the technical regulation on tobacco products will be enforced. Apart from that, in 2016 the Customs Union made the transition to seven technical regulations on furniture products, wheeled vehicles, motorways, explosives and products based on them, railway industry.
